Together with our generous sponsors, PNC and McCormick Flavor for Life, we recently launched Y on the Fly at the Weinberg Y in Waverly. Y on the Fly is a Y on wheels that brings exercise, healthy cooking and nutrition out to neighborhoods in Baltimore all summer long!
This summer, the Y on the Fly van will make coordinated stops at 40 locations throughout Baltimore City to reach approximately 1,500 youth. Planned stops include Enoch Pratt and Weinberg Foundation libraries, schools, churches and other community organizations. Stocked with sports equipment and games, the program promotes physical activity and healthy eating. Participants will also receive McCormick Flavor For Life recipe cards.

At the kick-off event, Y summer campers demonstrated Y on the Fly activities – playing games on the field like Frisbee, Follow the Leader and Hula Hooping. Y campers also acted as sous chefs, helping chop veggies and making creamy dill dip, a McCormick Flavor For Life recipe. Y CEO, John Hoey, PNC Executive Vice President, Matt Martin and McCormick Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, Scott Robinson were all on hand to make remarks and help celebrate the launch!
