Y Story: Sports and Welcoming Y’s

The Y in Arnold member, Lisa Lauer, and her family value the Y for its kids’ fitness programs like flag football and its many locations around the country.  As a working mother of two boys, Lisa appreciates Y programs for young people that emphasize not only the rules of the game but also good sportsmanship and conduct. Raising two boys, ages 10 and 12, takes energy and resourcefulness and Lisa is glad that even when she and her family travel on vacation, their Y membership goes with them along with their access to the same good family programs and fun.

Two years ago while vacationing in Nags Head, North Carolina, Lisa and her family were able to use their membership to take full advantage of the Outer Banks Family Y. No matter where you go, chances are, within a few minutes’ drive or even a short walk, there’s a smiling Y staff member ready to greet you at the front door of a neighborhood Y facility to make you feel that you are being treated with caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Thanks to members like Lisa, we have the great privilege of serving communities and people like her family every day.
