Today I am giving you a special Monday Mission assignment! Your assignment is to relax and enjoy your 4th of July holiday with family and friends tomorrow! (Note – for those of you working in the morning tomorrow, a special thank you for doing so). Whether you are a Y associate, volunteer, donor or simply someone who cares about our work, please take a moment tomorrow to pat yourself on the back for the excellent work you do to improve our community. Each of you is a valuable contributor to the well-being of the people, families and the neighborhoods we serve in so many ways. Please know that your work is “seen” and appreciated by me, but much more importantly, by those whose lives you impact. For every child, young person, senior and/or health seeker who is aided in their journey, for every new connection made and spirit lifted, I say thank you!

I also want to use this moment to especially thank and welcome our new “Big Brothers Big Sisters at the Y” associates and volunteers who officially join our Y team today! We welcome you and thank you for the important work you are doing on behalf of some of the most vulnerable young people in our community. I hope your experience as a critically important part of the Y is positive and rewarding!
